From New Jersey, singer Gerard Way started My Chemical Romance with former drummer Matt Pelissier in the early 2000s. While they were still a relative unknown entity in the big music scene, they began playing shows all over the northeast. Their Indie Emo sound caught on fast, amassing an incredible following and tickets to their shows sold like crazy. It was not long after that that their rough dramatic sound caught the attention of Eyeball Records. Picking them up to put out their debut album, My Chemical Romance released "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love that featured their smash hits 'Drowning Lessons,' 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You,' and their first song, 'Skylines and Turnstiles.'

In 2003, My Chemical Romance came out with their second album "Cheers for Sweet Revenge." True to their hardcore emotional style, their second album was just as invigorating and frenzied as the first album and did just as well with their loyal fans.
